Thierry MALET was born in France. He began studying classical piano at the age of seven with the National Academy of Paris where he took classes in harmony and composition. At the school of Claude Bolling, he discovered the music scoring for films and the symphonic orchestration. While studying music, he specialised in acoustics at the engineering college of ECAM, (Ecole Centrale des Arts et Metiers) and did his research on a new way of visualising the music by computer modeling for a Phd at the Sheffield University UK. When he came back to France, he started scoring intensively for feature fims and TV movies. In 1995, he established his own music executive compagny. More recently, he received the first prize at Cannes Film Festival and the best score of the year from SACEM for the musical film "Imago" which was also nominated at the Oscars. F. Telman
